WORKING SAFELY IN THE CELLAR
Managing hazards in a dynamic environment

There are considerable safety risks associated with wine industry work, which can be underestimated.

Wine industry work is varied from high-risk activities including working in confined spaces and at heights and working with a wide variety of chemicals.

What makes the wine industry more complex is the breath of other activities in vineyards, bottling, laboratories, function spaces and cellar doors which interact with the public that need to also be controlled.

To support the industry in managing these risks, the South Australian Wine Industry Association (SAWIA) has developed a range of resources, including the WineSafety Induction Course.
